Additional Info:

OC-RAP is based out of arguably the most conservative counties in the nation, where many school administrators and educators are pro-military and pro-war.  It is against this hegemony that we work to demilitarize our local public schools to give our youth the breathing space to learn and grow, to live long and prosper.

Currently, our main outreach activities are: leafleting at heavily recruited public high schools, giving classroom presentations, counseling youth considering enlistment and active duty curious about their options. If you'd like to assist us in any of these efforts, please feel free to e-mail us at the above address or call our message line at (714) 649-0501.

CCW works to defend and extend the rights of conscientious objectors. The Center is committed to supporting all those who question participation in war, whether they are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, documented or undocumented immigrants--or citizens in other countries.

CCW, located in Washington, DC, is governed by a Board of Directors and employs a staff to serve the Center's national constituency. Services are provided to the public at no charge. CCW participates in the G.I. Rights Hotline, a national referral and counseling service for military personnel. In the event of a military draft, CCW will assist in the placement of conscientious objectors in alternative service programs. The Center is opposed to all forms of conscription.

Additional Info:

Massachusetts Peace Action is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that pushes for a just and peaceful foreign policy through grassroots education, community organizing and policy advocacy. MAPA is the statewide-affiliate of Peace Action, the nation's largest grassroots membership-based peace organization, and collaborates with the national Student Peace Action Network (www.StudentPeaceAction.org) on youth empowerment and counter-recruitment organizing.

Mass Peace Action organizers and members support a variety of local counter-recruiting activities and are lobbying for comprehensive state legislation to better protect students' rights and privacy in schools by addressing issues such as ASVAB, equal access and the need for a more accessible opt-out system in schools across the state.

Our CR work involves collaboration with the Boston Youth Anti-War Network (a student network that connects several Boston-area college campuses) and the C-R working group of the United for Justice with Peace Coalition.

Additional priority issues include ending the occupation of Iraq, stopping an attack on Iran, pushing for nuclear disarmament and abolition, redirecting Pentagon spending to meeting human and environmental needs, and promoting real security through global cooperation, human rights, and nonproliferation.
